A few weeks ago, we had this strategic planning in Tagaytay. I remember waking up early morning, grabbing my bag and leaving early to travel.
During the trip, whenever I needed something, I just look in my bag. Toiletries, chargers, clothes and underwear, everything I needed – all there. Now before you judge me, I know this should be normal and expected every time you travel but the thing is, I didn’t do the packing.
Later that trip I was thinking about how important that baggage is to me but how little effort I needed to devote on it. How can something that is crucial for me be completely influenced and controlled by someone else?
Sometimes, it’s not just you
Oftentimes, in life, it’s easy to have an “I” perspective especially when things are going well.
“My child is growing up smart, I must be doing something right as a parent.”
“My business is growing and earning, I must be making the right decisions.”
“I am getting promoted, I must be performing very well.”
Although these things might be true, chances are there are people on the background that makes things possible for us. As a result, contributing and adding value to our life. Building and working with us towards our goals and aspirations. Just like the nicely packed bag I had on that trip, which my lovely wife made possible for me to do my best on other stuff.
An Attitude of Gratitude
As 2022’s end draws near, may we be more aware of the small things and the people who make things better for us. May we appreciate other people’s contribution to our life and success no matter how small and insignificant it may seem to be.
As a result, may we say “Thank you” more often.
Thank you to the Lord for the grace and provision to our life.
Thank you to my lovely wife for being my rock and loving me even when I am not easy to love.
Thank you to my family and friends for all the support and encouragement.
Thank you to my colleagues who do awesome work with me.
Let’s be more successful and all the more grateful in 2023!
